Some little tips of the trade that have helped me through the years that I have taken for granted recently and have to share:

1. Are Protein shakes a hassle? Too much work to clean up the blender? Mixing with a spoon not dissolving the powder enough? Making a mess everytime you make one?

Buy a shaker. Best freakin thing ever.

Fill it up with water, 1-2 scoops of your favorite protein powder....chocolate works for me.....and don't forget the ice. Nothing worse than a hot protein shake. Shake it up real good. Protein powder dissolves awesome, very easy clean up to rinse out, and the snap lid keeps it fresh. An ice cold, chocolate protein shake...it is turning into dessert for me it mixes so well in this shaker, tastes very good.

2. Is water too bland for you? You miss drinking Coke, Iced Tea, etc, and water is just too boring?

Get some Lemon or Lime Juice.

Just buy one of those stupid squeezable lime juices and it makes water a lot more interesting. Very important to drink water and hydrate your body, and lime juice or lemon juice is strong enough to add some zest and do the trick.

3. Tired of eating boring ass chicken? Is the chicken too bland?

Start marinating.

There is no rule that says you can't marinate your chicken, or any meat for that matter. It's so easy to do. They usually have these marinades buy 1, get 1 at the store. You only need 1/4 to 1/2 the bottle. Start marinating your meats, fire up the grill, easy cleanup and much better tasting chicken. You dont have to eat bland to eat healthy. Throw some Tabasco on there, whatever gets it done for you. Just because you eat grilled chicken breast, doesnt mean it cant be grilled and have flavor.

4. Not seeing much results at the gym lately? Not getting sore anymore? Not sweating much anymore? Workouts lacking intensity? Need to try something new?

Supersets.

Yep. Nothing new or special about it. Nothing cutting edge here. Most of you have probably done them at some point before. But damn, they are oftne neglected and supersets have gotten me back in shape QUICKLY. Usually, you go to the gym and you dont want to appear weak, so supersets are out of the question because by the time you get to the 3rd exercise of the superset, you are so fatigued you look like a puss. But man, for chest day for example. I start with regular flat bench, do about 8....then walk directly over to incline, do about 6, then get about 8 pushups done before I collapse. Thats 1 set, with 5-10 second rest in between each section of the superset. Then wait 2 mins, and repeat. Awesome, awesome, awesome burn in the muscles that I havent felt in a long time, finally worked up a sweat at the gym, and already seeing results after just 2 weeks of doing supersets for all of my muscle groups. Great way to shock your system and wake it's ass up and start seeing some results quickly.

5. No way in hell you can accomplish supersets? Lacking energy, will-power? No stamina?

NO-Xplode

My favorite supplement by far. The more I take it the more I love it. Vasodilator...so basically it makes your veins bigger to transport more blood, oxygen, nurients to the part of your body that needs it most....the part you are working out. Gives you focus and energy at the gym. You actually feel like killing someone. Its awesome stuff. It is revolutionizing supplements right now the way creatine did in the 90's. Lemonade flavor mixes with water in my shaker that I listed in #1....and it tastes great. I drink it 30 mins before working out, and i have tons of energy, and am lifting higher weights now.

Hope you enjoyed. I have plenty more little tips if interested I will post them.:pope:

Great post Box. People sleep on Supersetting and it gets me some great gains especially on legs.

You need to come out with a blog or something, for real, for real.

Good post............I'm just now working out again..but, for me, the most effective supersets for are working "opposite" muscles back to back. It cuts your workout in half. (chest/back, bi/tri).

I always wanted to have ripped shoulders like a gi joe figure-so my third day was straight shoulders and abs......there are tons of shoulder excercises.

Work out 3 days in a row then two days off. I'm trying to mix cardio in everyday I lift.......and still get done in around an hour and 15 at most.

Am currently taking part in everyone of those tips.

Another tip -

Not sure you are getting enough water? Buy a 32 oz bottle and make it a job to drink 3-4 of them a day. As Box said, water is absolutely essential to having a good body and being healthy. Often times people think they are drinking enough, when they really aren't. By drinking 3 or 4 of these bottles a day you can be sure you are getting enough.

Also, two nice little shakes that I like drinking.

1. 2 cups of skim milk, 1 banana, 1 low fat strawberry yogurt. Delicious

2. Morning shake, 1 cup oatmeal, 2 scoops protein, 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter(A great source of good fats - Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats), 2 cups skim milk.

Do you blend that stuff up kruser or just throw it in that shaker?

Blend it up.

I have one of those magic bullets, thing is awesome. One of the best things I have for working out, can throw anything in there and grind it up!

The Oatmeal shake is perfect in the morning, however sometimes its not good to have such slow burning carbs in the morning. If you want to have a faster start then something simple like cereal and a bagel with a protein shake is a good choice.
